Peppermint Tea Addict
Coming from a nation of tea drinkers, drinking tea is a social event. I tried to stop drinking tea, but I couldn’t, so I turned to a healthier option, peppermint tea. I am addicted! I drink it first thing in the morning and throughout the day. When I was visiting my friend, she noticed how much I loved peppermint tea, so she posted over some home-grown dried peppermint tea leaves from her garden in Germany. My brother is finding the tea a great relief for his flu. He stirs some honey in with it. If you feel like you need a boost this winter, then add some marvelous manuka honey to your peppermint tea!
Peppermint tea is not only soothing and tastes great, but it also has some great health benefits. If you have any stomach problems, peppermint tea is an amazing natural remedy. It can help ease irritable bowl syndrome, nausea, digestion and reduce heartburn. I also like drinking it to detox after a night out on the town!
Normally, I just use peppermint teabags, but I found the leaves straight from my friend’s garden are incredibly minty and delicious. The leaves float at the top, but soon sink to the bottom. If you are a mint lover like me, then I recommend that you add it to your daily diet for the winter to warm your bones and clear your body and mind!
Bird !!!! can be the word : )
Ohh I love tea! Peppermint tea has never grown on me…but I’ll keep it in mind the next time I need a “detox.” 🙂
Yum! I love peppermint tea, but I’ve never tried it with the leaves. I bet it’s even better!
No way!!! I am a peppermint tea addict too! And I always have it with manuka honey when I’m sick…….what a conincidence
Love peppermint tea… the leaves would be so much more pungent!
have it too every now and then! At least your addictionj is good for you:-)
Fresh peppermint tea is glorious… wait until summer and add a squeeze of lemon juice yum 🙂
Thanks for tip, I will try that this summer!
Great post and beautiful blog! There is nothing better than tea and honey. What I like to do is use a coffee maker to make my tea. Use a regular drip coffee maker. Put a filter in the basket and put tea and/or peppermint leaves. Then add a tablespoon of tea masala to the basket. (combination of black pepper, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon). Then before starting the drip, put a bunch of honey directly in the bottom of the coffee pot. As the hot tea drips into the coffee pot it will dissolve the honey. Add a little lemon and/or milk or soy milk and forget about it. Cheers!
Great tip…thanks!
You have inspired me, I have been tasting the strawberry jam I just made it’s very sweet. some peppermint tea will be so refreshing.
the leaves look so lovely.
such beautiful flavour and so many health benefits.
Homemade strawberry jam..nice!
I love peppermint tea, especially at night before bed.
Yes it’s nice and soothing. Chalmomile is also great before bed-time too!
We brought some Moroccan tea home from our holiday in November – they also use fresh mint leaves to flavour green tea. They put a lot of sugar in it.
I actually have not tried peppermint, only mint. But I will definitely keep this in mind! Herbs are amazing for so many things 🙂
Peppermint tea, I totally forgot about it. Gonna go get some today. 🙂
Peppermint tea with honey is my favorite. I love it warm in the winter and on hot summer days a chilled glass is wonderful!!! ~Sophia
I drink herbal peppermint tea every night after dinner to help with my digestion. And during the day, I sometimes have black peppermint tea.
peppermint tea is one of my faves! 😉 thnx!
Hello! Thanks for following my blog! Love this post – even though I shouldn’t be drinking coffee (in England it’s more of a tea thing), I find caffeine doesn’t affect me if I get one with some peppermint flavouring. Kind of wakes you up for work, too 🙂
Hello I am so happy I found your blog, I really found you by mistake, while I was searching on Yahoo for something else, Anyhow I am here now and would just like to say thank you for a marvelous post and a all round interesting blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to read through it all at the minute but I have bookmarked it and also added in your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read more, Please do keep up the fantastic job.
I grow peppermint in my garden. We harvest it about three times a year. My daughter uses it for her stomach. that and apples and grapes for their natural yeasts, to help her balance her digestive system. she loves it with lemon juice too.
My peppermint started from one sprig that got chopped up by a weed-wacker. As it rained a lot right after, all the bits took root, and I soon had a garden full of peppermint. It has lovely little purple flowers on it in the late summer. The bees love it too.
Yes I drink it for my stomach too…it works small miracles!

I gave up drinking mint tea, because the mint in the tea bags is tasteless. But I think I’ll start buying mint leaves from the store instead. I’m sure it’s a lot tastier. Thanks for the idea.
I know what you mean about the mint tea bags..now that I have started on the leaves…the tea bags are just not the same anymore! The leaves are so much tastier!
I like to have a hot drink with my breakfast, and have recently settled for the healthy alternative of a cup of peppermint tea with a big splash of milk, preferably skim milk (which is white as ordinary milk due to added milk solids). I just have one cup of this tea a day. If I ever drink a hot drink at any other time, I prefer to drink silver tea (slightly cooled, boiled, hot, water). I try to stay away from caffeine, which is not doing me any good. The next thing I think I would like to try is a cup of chamomile tea at night.
