Free wine tasting masterclass

Fancy attending a free wine tasting masterclass?

ABC- anything but chardonnay! That is what I was told by the owner of a wine store in my college town. Holding a bottle of chardonnay in my hand, I asked him about different wines and he said “soon it will ABC”! And he was right!

If you fancy broadening your knowledge of wine, then you may be interested in attending a free wine tasting class hosted by Brancott Estate Winemaker, Jamie Marfell, in the relaxed surroundings of Odessa Club, Dublin on Tuesday the 31st of January at 7pm. Guests will have the chance to sample five wines while nibbling on a selection of delicious canapés.

Jamie who is an expert on Sauvignon Blanc and sparkling wine, is visiting Ireland to attend this year’s New Zealand Wine Fair. Jamie will offer 30 guests his expert tips on wine, as well as a unique insight into wine making in the Marlborough region, having grown up on a farm overlooking the Brancott Valley.

The five wines from the Brancott range will include three wines from the classic range (Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Brancott Estate Pinot Grigio and Brancott Estate Pinot Noir), one wine from the Letter Series Range, Letter Series B and one of the newest varietals to the range, the sparkling Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc Brut NV.

On the evening, Jamie will be joined by Irish wine expert Jean Smullen who will help him to guide the audience through the wine tasting process.
