Roasted red pepper hummus
Want to try a different type of hummus, then why not try roasted red pepper hummus?!
Place one pointed red pepper on a baking tray and put in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 180C. Drizzle some olive oil and a tiny bit of honey over the peppers. (The honey is optional.)
Then empty drained and rinsed chickpeas (one can) into a blender with some garlic granules (or finely chopped garlic), half a cup of water, one tablespoon of tahini, a little bit of olive oil, a tablespoon of low-fat yoghurt and the finely chopped red pepper.
Serve with some yummy tortilla chips or toasted pita bread!
yum!
Does it end up being sweet with the honey AND the red bell peppers? Seems like it would be sweet.
I need to get some tahini.
Yes it is sweet so you could leave out the honey, but I just like the taste of the honey with the pepper. I add honey to my food a lot..I have a sweet tooth!
Well, honey is good for you so at least you are getting some nutients from it!
Great recipes! I am a nutritionist and love seeing people like you share their healthy recipe ideas! Great work 🙂

One of my favorite snacks!
Never thought about using honey in hummus – what a great idea!
Needless to say that hummus rocks, but those toasted pita chips look sooooooo good!
